Peruvannamuzi Dam

Kerala has along chain of lush mid-clad hill stations that are a home to the exotic wildlife and mesmerizing scenic beauty. The Peruvannamuzi dam located amidst green hills of the Peruvannamuzi hill station is mainly popular as a picnic spot. The Peruvannamuzi dam is located at about 60 km from the town of Kozikode. It can be easily reached with the help of frequent bus services available from Kozhikode and Perumbra to Peruvannamuzhi. . The nearest Airport is that of the Karipur International Airport, about 25 kms from Kozikode. The Peruvannamuzhi dam site set amid hills is a beautiful picnic spot. The reservoirs here provide facilities for speed and rowboat cruises. Uninhabited islands, a bird sanctuary and a crocodile farm add to the charm of the place. While enjoying the speedboat or rowboat cruises one can see the 'Smaraka Thottam', a garden built in the memory of the freedom fighters of the region.
