Kerala Backwater Tour with Temples

Destination : Cochin - Kumarakom - Periyar - Madurai - Trichy - Tanjore - Pondicherry - Mahabalipuram - Chennai

Day 01: Arrive Cochin
Kerala Backwater Tour with Temples of South India is the most exiting moment of the India tour and tourism. After arriving to Cochin Airport our representative of tsiindia will take and transfer you in a lavish hotel for night halt and dinner.

Day 02: In Cochin
This morning starts with exploring the majestic city Cochin. In Cochin you will get enough opportunity to discover its enchanting backwaters. Day 03: Cochin – Kumarakom
In the next morning start your journey to reach at Kumarakom, the gate way to backwaters of Kerala. Day 04: In Kumarakom

Day 05: Kumarakom – Periyar
Next morning after breakfast drive to Periyar and check in a hotel there.

Day 07: Madurai – Trichy
This day brings the ultimate twist of your temple tour to South India, reach Trichy in the morning and start visiting the famous temples of the place. It will start from Srirangam, the prime pilgrimage center of Trichy. Samayapuram, Ayyapan, temple, Athmanathaswamy temple, Gunaseelam, Thiruvellarai, and Vayaloor also needs your divine visiting within the same day. Drive back to the hotel at Trichy and do your dinner.

Day 08: Trichy – Tanjore
Now drive to Tanjore in the morning after taking tea and breakfast. Tanjore is visited by most of the foreigners who come to India to learn about its culture and tradition. Visit Tanjore Brihadeeswarar temple and unfurl the meaning of the enormous Lingam - the 'Brihadeeswarar' is the prime deity of the shrine. Spend that night at Tanjore and take proper dinner.

Day 09: Tanjore – Pondicherry
In the morning, take your tea and breakfast and go for visiting the temples at Pondicherry. Start your temple tour with Jalaram Temple at noon. Thirunallar, the Varadraja temple, Masthan Saheb Darga are prime temples of Pondicherry, so visit these shrines within evening. Check in a hotel at Pondicherry and take your dinner.

Day 10: Pondicherry – Mahabalipuram
In this morning after tea drive to Mahabalipuram, the temple city sited just 58 kms of Chennai. In the mid noon drive to the Shore Temple, placed at the margins of Bay of Bengal. If possible you can also go for visiting Mandapas, sprinkled with pillared halls engraved into the rock face. Within night go back to the booked hotel at Mahabalipuram and stay the entire night.

Day 11: In Mahabalipuram
Wake up early in the morning to discover the eight famous antique Rathas of Mahabalipuram. Whole day is for Exploration of the tradition, history, godliness, and western annals, of Mahabalipuram. A tour to Mahabalipuram will bring a plethora of divine spots in the form of temples, Mandapas, Rathas or chariots. Overnight stay is at Mahabalipuram with a lavish dinner, offered to you.

Day 12: Mahabalipuram – Chennai
Thus comes the ending day of your backwater and temple tour to South India. In the morning drive to Chennai airport and catch your home flight.

1. Ride a canoe:
Drift along serene waterways in a country craft, enjoy the breeze, answer a cuckoo's call. Wave back at the cheerful village children on the banks. Invite some of them to top in for a ride.
